Frank J. Wolfe, Sr.
Born Jan. 14, 1952 in Macy, Nebraska
Crossed over July 19, 2006 in Hillsboro, Missouri
A Marine Corps Veteran
A small group of us were able to attend Frank's funeral services in
Macy, Nebraska.  We were welcomed as Frank's Missouri family and
even given a hunting cabin to stay in free of charge. The Omaha people
are truly caring and loving.  The cabin was near the Missouri River
where Frank liked to go and walk. Below are some pictures of us at the
river along with a small herd of buffalo near our cabin. This was Frank's
favorite quiet place to visit.   We said our final goodbyes to Frank while
we were in Macy, but his spirit will always be with us. He will be
missed.
I will be adding more to this page as I collect pictures and thoughts
and stories from other people. This is just a beginning for this great
man that we all loved and honored.
This painting was sent to us by Anita
from Tennessee. She went to the
Harrisburg, Illinois pow wow and took
some photos of Frank, then went home
and turned them into the oil painting
that you see below. In the oil painting
Frank is on the far right. Thank you,
Anita, for sending th
is to us. I hope
everyone likes
it as much as we do.
Below is a small paragraph from a poem and thoughts written by
Christine Blair to honor her brother Frank Wolfe.
The entire poem will be read by Chris at the 2007
Osage River Pow Wow.

"Frank believed that no matter what he was doing, there was always
time.....
Although his travels in this life took him many places, he never forgot
his roots,
He never forgot his people, and he never forgot his traditions.
He always gave thanks to the Creator for showing him the patience to
stop and
enjoy life, no matter how rocky the road was."
Frank packed in a hurry for our pow wow this
year and in the process he forgot his "drapers"
and his arm bands.  If you attended the Osage
River Pow Wow in June you would have seen
Frank wearing the U.S. flag for his drapers. What
a wonderful solution to the problem. This was the
last pow wow that Frank went to before he died.
Frank was killed in a one vehicle accident near
Hillsboro, Missouri,  where he had been living
with some friends.  When his truck left the road
and struck a tree, causing it to overturn, he died
instantly of severe head trama.
